It's easy... just be you!
The best version of you, I think we can overthink things. Most things to be honest. I worry that I haven't got the perfect shot, or I've missed one, or I'll get to editing and not have the ones I need.
Honestly though, without boasting that hasn't happened. What generally happens is I get some really magical shots that I hadn't even planned for.
So many people feel self conscious in front of the camera, most of us are worried about something with our appearance but for the majority of the time it's things that no-one else has noticed, ever!
The key to so much in life is confidence, feeling good in your own skin and embodying that energy, then your true effervescence shines. I love to get to know my clients before and through the photo shoot. It's an ongoing conversation where we chat and find out what makes you click and whilst we chat and get into a flow, I catch you being your most natural self. There in itself is the magic, the path of least effort, just you being you.
Although I definitely recommend you have a think about what you want to portray before the shoot, choose some clothes that go with the feel (I always bring styling extras that I feel might suit). Beautify yourself so you're feeling your best.
Then it's just a natural flow, chat, walk, easy guide to some effortless poses, you won't even know you're doing. Unless of course you're a yogi or pilates guru then I recommend showing off a little, there's never any harm in that!
Branding photography really is just capturing the best of you so that your vibe shines through in the photos. Then they can speak for themselves. The thing I've noticed about working in the wellbeing space is that we are all so like-minded I end up having cosmic chats with most of my clients that lead to laughs & great connections, that lead to really beautiful photos, et voila, c'est facile.
A friend mentioned yesterday that she didn't know where to invest for her brand, was it in the photos, the marketing, the sales. It can be so hard to choose especially when you have a budget to stick to. My advice would always be, you need to be seen to be known, so great photos are kind of non negotiable. When I shoot a branding shoot I get a lot in there, so you have a variety to choose from to keep you going for ages. It's a great investment in yourself. I promise you won't regret.
Love & light
